Mohamed Elneny is set to end his Arsenal career for good as AC Milan prepare a £13million bid, according to reports.

The Egypt international is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, but is said to be ready for a new challenge in January if a permanent move presents itself.

Milan are wary that several Premier League sides are watching Franck Kessie and with the fear of losing the midfielder in 2020, have lined up Elneny as his replacement.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, new boss Stefano Pioli believes the 27-year-old has the combative edge and strength to help the fallen giant get back to the top of Serie A and amongst the European elite once more.

Bitter rivals Inter are currently second behind Juventus, with the Rossoneri languishing in 13th spot and having not competed in the Champions League since 2014.

Elneny struggled for game time under Unai Emery after the arrival of Lucas Torreira and his misfortune has carried into his spell with Besiktas.
