Borussia Dortmund have some of the best young talents in world football and are irresistibly exciting to watch at the moment.

In their Champions League win against Paris Saint-Germain they finished with a front three consisting of one 17-year-old and two 19-year-olds.

Giovanni Reyna, Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho are a big part of their revered talent who are just at the start of their careers.

What is interesting, and purely a coincidence, is how all three were born in England but are now setting the world alight in Germany.

Sancho was the first to join Dortmund in 2017 for £8million from Man City and has gone on to be one of the world’s best wingers.

He was the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to reach double figures for goals and assists this season and is still only 19.

Erling Haaland is like Harry Kane… but he’s bigger, stronger and quicker – Tony Cascarino says 19-year-old striker is one of the best he’s ever seen

Sancho was born in London and was briefly part of the Watford academy before being snapped up by City.

Frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities, he left for the Bundesliga and has not looked back. It turned out to be a smart decision considering the lack of first-team football players like Phil Foden have received.

A full England international, he has since been linked with a return to the Premier League and urged to join one of Chelsea or Liverpool.

Haaland is Norweigan and ended up at Dortmund during the January transfer window from Red Bull Leipzig.

The striker has been mightily impressive in scoring 11 goals in just seven games at a ridiculous average of one every 41 minutes.

He started off at his hometown club Bryne FK in Norway before moving to Molde but it was in fact Leeds where he was born.

His father, Alf-Inge Haaland was playing football in England at the time and also had spells at Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Man City.

The 19-year-old is also a Leeds fan and has previously spoken about his dream of winning the Premier League with them.

Giovanni Reyna is the youngest of the group, having turned 17 last November and has not made the same impact on the first-team as the other two.

He is still a very highly-rated youngster who has now made seven substitute appearances and scored once.

Reyna is a United States Under-17 international but was born in Sunderland while his father, Claudio, was playing there.

Claudio Reyna also played for Rangers and Man City during his time in the United Kingdom.

So, there you have it – Borussia Dortmund’s exciting teenage trio were all bizarrely born in England and also have links to Man City.
