Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah in the summer.
The Gunners have been linked to several defenders in the recent weeks and months.
They did sign Pablo Mari on a loan deal until the end of the season but more signings are expected during the next transfer window.
Bild report that Arsenal are eyeing a move Leverkusen’s Tah, especially with his £33.25million release clause.
The 24-year-old Germany international joined the Bundesliga club from Hamburg in 2015 and has gone on to make 167 appearances.
His current deal expires in 2023 and that release clause is believed to expire in June, so the Gunners would have to be quick to wrap up the deal.
Mikel Arteta has made strengthening his defence one of his top priorities this summer.
Error prone duo Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz have been forced on the Arsenal boss as his regular pairing following injuries to Rob Holding and Calum Chambers.
Chambers is expected to be out for around seven months with a serious knee injury.
Another player the Gunners have been linked to is RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano who has a transfer release clause of £41.5million.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Tottenham, he said: “There are several clubs that want me.
“I will speak with my agents and my parents at the end of the season and we will make the right decision.”
