Paul Scholes insists legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson would never have allowed Paul Pogba to train away from his Manchester United teammates.

The midfielder has been recovering from an ankle injury in Dubai with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s blessing, while the rest of the squad participated in warm weather training in Marbella during the winter break.

Pogba, who has featured just eight times this season due to an ankle injury, reportedly wants to quit Old Trafford in the summer.

Scholes, who was teammates with Solskjaer at United for 11 years from 1996 to 2007, has been left unimpressed by Pogba’s training schedule.

He told 5 Live: “I don’t think it would’ve gone down very well [with Ferguson].

“Players seem to go off and do their own stuff now. When I was there, our manager wouldn’t have allowed that type of thing to happen.”

Pogba has been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid and Juventus, with his agent, Mino Raiola referring to Italy as a ‘second home’ for the player, having spent four years in Turin before rejoining United for a then world-record £89million fee.

“Look, impossible things do not exist in the transfer market,” he said.

“I think be it Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, or Barcelona, they always showed how nothing is impossible.

“If there’s the willingness from all three parties, then things can get done.”

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour told talkSPORT Manchester United should try and sign Aaron Ramsey by including Pogba in a swap deal.

The Wales midfielder has struggled for form since joining Juve in a free transfer from Arsenal last summer, making just six Serie A starts.

And Parlour believes a deal involving Pogba and Ramsey would suit both clubs.

He said: “Aaron Ramsey could be on his way again after just one year at Juventus – would that be a good swap deal?

“He’s a super player. They’ll be a lot of clubs interested in him.

“Could he go to Manchester United? He’s the sort of player they need to score you goals from midfield.

“He’s a good age, he’s still got three or four good years ahead of him, so he would surely be on Man United’s radar.

“That could be an interesting move if they could have him as part of the deal. I’m sure Man United fans would be very happy if they got Ramsey for Pogba.

“United paid £89million for Pogba, so they’ll certainly want that back, so you’d probably say he’s worth up to £100million.

“Ramsey would be worth £50million or 60million.”
