Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed the club have received bids for Moussa Dembele – but insists the striker is going nowhere this month.
The Frenchman, who has scored 25 goals in 51 Ligue 1 appearances for the club, is reportedly happy to consider a move to Stamford Bridge despite competition with Tammy Abraham.
It is also believed Manchester United are keen to sign Dembele, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer missing out on Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.
But despite confirming offers have been received, Aulas has dismissed any possible move for the forward this month.
Aulas told Lyon’s official website: “Moussa Dembele will not leave because he wants to stay to win something with Lyon.
“There have been offers for him and for other players but none of those that we want to keep will leave in January.”
Meanwhile, Blues legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has urged the club to seal a deal for the forward
“Chelsea need to make new signings because you have to keep the rhythm going and just to get some kind of new blood coming through the door,” he told the Mail.
“It is always good when you make a signing. It gives everybody new energy, you know?
“Obviously Tammy Abraham is doing really well but he is the only one really who is doing really well. [Michy]
“Batshuayi is not making a difference. [Olivier] Giroud, I think, he does not really fit in with their plans. “They need to get a striker in. Moussa Dembele would be a magnificent signing for Chelsea.”
