Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is being ‘closely followed’ by Inter Milan ahead of a possible transfer in January, according to reports.

Speculation has been rife about the Gabonese striker’s future at the Emirates, with the club without a manager and seven points off the top four having failed to record a single win in their last eight outings.

Aubameyang scored his tenth goal of the season at the weekend

The 30-year-old, who equalised twice in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Norwich on Sunday, has been linked to Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid .

Aubameyang, who has netted 10 goals in league matches this season, shared the golden boot award with Liverpool pair Sadio Mane and Mo Salah last season.

Antonio Conte is now considering a mid-season swoop for the forward, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian tactician is said to be preparing for the possibility of losing in-form striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona.

The Serie A pace-setters have not yet made any moves towards securing Aubameyang, according to French publication Le10Sport , but San Siro chiefs are said to have ‘closely followed’ the forward’s situation over the summer.

The former Borussia Dormund ace is contracted to Arsenal until summer 2021, but it has been reported that he and Alexandre Lacazette are both refusing to sign new deals over concerns with the direction the club is going.

Freddie Ljungberg has taken interim charge, and while the Swede is the favourite to land the job full-time with the bookies, the likes of Mikel Arteta and Brendan Rodgers also in the frame to replace him.
