Manchester United and Manchester City paid out more than £50MILLION combined to injured players last season.
Pep Guardiola’s side were fortunate with injuries during the 2018/19 campaign, meaning they managed to peg back Liverpool to reclaim the title.
However, according to the Daily Mail, it still came at quite the cost. Their 35 injuries cost them a whopping £24.95m in total.
Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne, who commands a weekly wage of £350,000-a-week, suffered five separate injuries and resulted in the Premier League champions paying a massive £8.4m to the player.
Unfortunately, Fulham and Cardiff City returned straight to the Championship after achieving promotion. But the cost of injuries did not blight them too greatly.
