Dani Ceballos has been ruled out of Arsenal’s match with Leicester on Saturday due to injury.
The on-loan Real Madrid midfielder started the Europa League match against Vitoria on Wednesday, which they drew 1-1.
Ceballos had to be taken off shortly after half-time because of a hamstring problem.
The Gunners have now confirmed he will not be in the squad for the trip to Leicester on Saturday, which is live on talkSPORT.
In an update on Ceballos posted on the club’s website, Arsenal said: “Left hamstring. Sustained during the Vitoria (a) match on November 6.
“Currently being assessed, but will miss Saturday’s match at Leicester City.
“No other first team squad players are unavailable due to injury.”
Manager Unai Emery had hoped that problem with the Spain international would be minor but it is serious enough to keep him out of the Premier League clash.
The 23-year-old has impressed at the Emirates since joining on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
