The Kenya women national team, Harambee Starlets, has on Thursday, October 31, 2019, reported to camp at the Kasarani Stadion Hotel ahead of their upcoming Olympics Qualifier against Zambia.
This follows the government’s timely intervention after the team’s camp, which was scheduled to kick off early this week, was called off due to lack of funds. The team is, however, expected to be full-house on Friday, and will hold their first training session on at the MISC Kasarani. A friendly match against the FKF National Center of Excellence has also been lined up on Monday next week.
Team Forward, Mwanahalima Adam thanked the CS for Sports, Amina Mohammed and FKF President, Nick Mwendwa for fighting for the team.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for this chance to come to the camp and train. I also like to thank CS Amina Mohammed and FKF president, Nick Mwendwa, for the fight that helped to release the funds,” she said.
The first leg match will be played on November 8, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani, while the second leg has been scheduled for November 11, 2019, at the Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia.
