Christian Pulisic became the youngster Chelsea player ever to score a Premier League hat-trick during the 4-2 victory over Burnley on Saturday.
The 21-year-old netted with his left-foot, right-foot and head before Willian made it four, and two late goals from Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil did little to dampen the visitors’ mood as they sealed a seventh successive victory.
Pulisic had the biggest smile on his face as he walked over to collect the match ball from Michael Oliver, which he nearly forgot to do.
“It’s actually my first professional hat-trick so I nearly forgot the match ball. Luckily my team-mates helped me out,” he said after the game.
Here, talkSPORT.com examines just how remarkable the American’s treble was at Turf Moor:
Pulisic scores first perfect hat-trick for Chelsea since Didier Drogba in 2010
It had been nine years since a Chelsea player scored with their right foot, left foot and head in a single game.
If Pulisic can go on to become half the legend Drogba was at Stamford Bridge, then he’ll be pretty pleased.
Pulisic overtakes Tammy Abraham as Chelsea’s youngest ever hat-trick scorer in the Premier League
At 21 years and 38 days old, Pulisic beats Abraham’s record which only stood for 42 days.
Abraham scored a hat-trick away at Wolves last month, which brings us onto our next statistic…
Chelsea become the first team to have two different hat-trick scorers under 21 in one season
And it’s only October!
You wouldn’t bet against Mason Mount or Callum Hudson-Odoi bagging a treble of their own before the season’s up.
Players from 13 different countries have scored Premier League hat-tricks for Chelsea – more than any other club
Pulisic became the first American to score in the Premier League for the Blues.
He is also just the second USA international to bag a hat-trick in the English top-flight after Fulham’s Clint Dempsey.
Pulisic now has as many Premier League hat-tricks as Cristiano Ronaldo
And he’s got more than Lionel Messi. That means he’s better than both, right?
